Les images de la bande-annonce du film "The Whale" avec Brendan Fraser . A24 drops first look at awards season hot contender The Whale starring Brendan Fraser. The first trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale has dropped ahead of its December 9, 2022, release in the US. The short one minute teaser shows the former Hollywood hunk looking unrecognisable in his lead role of Charlie, a 600-pound gay man confined to a wheelchair The heart-warming tale stars Brendan Fraser as a reclusive English teacher living with severe obesity who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter, played by Stranger Thindgs star Sink. The trailer opens with scenes of Charlie's apartment where he is confined, before he is shown staring at a bird outside his window with tears in his eyes. “Do you ever get the feeling people are incapable of not caring?” Charlie says in a voiceover as the trailer flashes between scenes of Charlie in his apartment and his daughter's childhood. Sink also appears in the trailer as Charlie's daughter Ellie, who is struggling to reconnect with her estranged father. Hong Chau, who plays Charlie's friend and caregiver is shown crying in the teaser as Charlie tells her: “People are amazing.” The Whale has been riding a wave ever since its world premiere in Venice to an extended ovation, from where it went on to equally enthusiastic welcomes in Toronto and London. Fraser is seen as a front-runner in the Best Actor category at the Academy Awards. In the meantime, he kicked off awards season in Toronto as the recipient of the TIFF Tribute Award for Performance and is also set to receive the Santa Barbara Film Festival’s American Riviera Award in February 2023. The Whale is based on the acclaimed play by Samuel D. Hunter and also stars Ty Simpkins and Samantha Morton. © BestImage, Backgrid UK/ Bestimage
